Amelie, a Japanese American artist, is currently based in the bustling city of Los Angeles, California. She has had a passion for drawing since childhood and pursued her love of art by studying it in Japan during her college years.
“I was born in Tokyo, surrounded by culture, people, and constant movement.
At the same time, I grew up hating being photographed. I never felt confident in how I looked.
Maybe that’s why I do what I do now.
I believe everyone carries their own kind of beauty, even if they don’t see it yet.
Through my work, I want to capture that moment when it quietly reveals itself.
No matter who you are, you can be seen as beautiful.
That’s the kind of photograph I want to create.”
